Friends of Strays welcomes Erik Pindar, DVM, as Medical Director

Friday, January 12, 2024

We are excited to announce that Dr. Erik Pindar, DVM, has joined our leadership team as our medical director and shelter veterinarian!

Dr. Pindar brings with him a strong foundation of experience and knowledge in shelter veterinary medicine. He graduated from the University of Florida and has been practicing in the area for 10 years. Dr. Pindar began his career in general practice but quickly followed his passion into nonprofit work and shelter medicine, where he has spent the majority of his career. His love of caring for animals extends into his family: his partner, Sharon, is also a veterinarian. They have a crew of 3 dogs, a cat, a box turtle, and a ball python.

“I am so grateful to be part of a great organization doing such excellent work here in Pinellas County! I am also beyond appreciative to be supported by such an amazing team, group of volunteers, and community of shelter supporters as we have here at Friends of Strays,” Dr. Pindar said. “With the help of our partners and passionate community supporters, I have no doubt I will be part of continuing on and expanding the care for animals in our area that otherwise may not receive all the treatment, love, and devotion they need.”
