Please join us in welcoming Sarah Penner as a new member of the Friends of Strays Board of Directors!
Sarah is the New York Times and internationally bestselling author of The Lost Apothecary, which has been translated into forty languages worldwide and is set to be turned into a drama series by Fox. A graduate of the University of Kansas, Sarah spent thirteen years in corporate finance and now writes full-time. Sarah's second book, The London Séance Society, is forthcoming in early 2023.

Originally from Kansas, Sarah and her husband moved to St. Petersburg in 2017. Sarah began volunteering as a dog walker with Friends of Strays in 2021, and she is an avid supporter of organizations assisting local wildlife, including the Center for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) in Sanibel, FL and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Sarah also volunteers with Keep Pinellas Beautiful.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys running, cooking, hot yoga, and teaching tricks to her spunky, stubborn miniature dachshund, Zoe.
