As a 501(c)3 nonprofit no-kill animal shelter, Friends of Strays is dependent on our community of animal lovers to work alongside us to save lives. Every donation helps us give the cats and dogs in our care the rescue, refuge, care, and love they deserve. There are so many ways you can join us in the work we do with your generosity. Planned Giving
There is no greater gift than one that creates a legacy, especially for homeless animals. Making a gift to Friends of Strays through your will, trust or retirement plan ensures that we can continue our work of caring and finding loving families for the homeless and abandoned dogs and cats in St. Petersburg and Pinellas County for years to come.

Birthday, Memorial, or dedication Donations
Would you like to donate to Friends of Strays in honor of a loved one as a gift? Maybe you'd like to honor a beloved pet who has crossed the rainbow bridge with a donation to help a shelter pet in need. Or perhaps a loved one who has passed would like donations made in lieu of flowers.
You can make a donation, and select a digital card to be sent to the person of your choice!
Simply make a donation online (button below) and select "Dedicate this Donation" on the first window. Follow the steps to make your donation. Once you have made your donation, you'll see a window like this:
Make sure to select "send a personalized card with your dedication"! From here you will be directed to a new window, and and the final step will be to select the e-card you want and enter in the details and message you'd like sent to the email you provide!
Matching gifts
Did you know that many companies offer matching gift programs where they match charitable donations their full- and part-time employees or retirees at a 1:1 or even a 2:1 ratio? This means your donation to Friends of Strays, can go twice or even three times as far to help save homeless animals in Pinellas County and beyond. Some local employers that match employee donations include Publix, Raymond James, AIG, Wal-Mart, Suntrust, Bank of America, and The Tampa Bay Times just to name a few! It’s easy to set up employer matching gifts for your donations to Friends of Strays.
