Wills or Trusts
Making a gift to Friends of Strays through your will or revocable living trust is a simple and flexible way to save the lives of homeless and abandoned dogs and cats for years to come.
If you have already named Friends of Strays in your estate plans, please let us know! We’d like to thank you for joining us in our life-saving efforts.
There are several ways that you can make a gift through your will or trust:
Specific gift: You can describe exactly what kind and how much of a gift you want to leave to Friends of Strays. Such a gift can take the form of cash, stocks, bonds, real estate, or any type of asset. For example: “[$10,000 cash, or 100 shares of “ABC” stock, or my personal vehicle] to Friends of Strays, a Florida non-profit 501 c3, Federal Tax ID #59-2156540.”
Residuary gift: This type of bequest is honored after all other bequests have been made, and all debts, expenses and taxes have been paid. For example: “10% of my residuary estate to Friends of Strays, a Florida non-profit 501 c3, Federal Tax ID #59-2156540.”
Contingent gift: This type of bequest is fulfilled if certain conditions are met. For instance, if your primary beneficiary does not survive you, you can indicate your next choice through a contingent bequest.
